The Mongol Derby is all about getting off the beaten track and having an adventure, whilst at the same time raising stacks of cash for charity and helping out those in the world that don't have it quite as good as they should.  

The Official Charity for this inaugural 2009 Mongol Derby is Mercy Corps.

Mercy Corps supports rural communities in Mongolia to meet their economic and social needs, helping individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient, diversified in their production and better linked to local, regional and national markets.  

Over the past five years Mercy Corps has established a strong reputation across the vast Gobi region, and continues to work with business associations and local organisations to ensure a robust economy that preserves ancient traditions.
